Philosophy

We are in the business of wellness. Using integrative and alternative treatment approaches combined with innovative, healing technologies, we speed up recovery, prevent injuries and pursue optimal health and performance.

We utilize cutting-edge, advanced recovery modalities that professional athletes are using and make them accessible to the general population of athletes and non-athletes.

The essence of the Shin Center of Integrative Sports Medicine is the “science and art” of recovery.

Jong T. Shin, D.O. graduated with a degree in Biology from Rider University. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania graduate program to study Environmental Studies (emphasis on health as it relates to pollution, environmental toxins, and patients).  From there, he graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and received his medical degree, Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).

After graduating from medical school, Dr.Shin was accepted into the Crozer-Keystone Family Medicine Residency Program.  Dr. Shin became a chief resident and won various awards including the Sports Medicine Resident of the Year and Complementary and Alternative Medicine of the Year Awards.  He was accepted into the Crozer-Keystone Sports Medicine Fellowship program to become a specialist in Sports Medicine. He has a medical acupuncture degree from the Helms Institute. In addition, Dr. Shin has undergone various advanced training in integrative and alternative medicine.  He was an Associate and Director of Integrative Sports Medicine at Chung Institute of Integrative Medicine. There he worked and studied under the tutelage of Dr. M. Kyu Chung, master practitioner of holistic, alternative and integrative medicine.

Currently, Dr. Shin is the Director of Shin Center of Integrative Sports Medicine and Body Reboot. His medical approach is integrative sports medicine, using regenerative therapies to signal the body to heal using the patients’ natural healing mechanism. At his new facility, he continues his consulting work for professional athletes and the Philadelphia Eagles.  In February 2018, he was invited to be part of the medical team and treat the players in Minnesota where his beloved Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 52. With his love for his patients, medicine, science, and technology combined, he is looking forward to advancing the field of Sports Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Musculoskeletal Medicine.

When Dr. Shin is not practicing medicine, you can find him enjoying his float in one of the pods at Shin Center.  He has lived in the tri-state area for the last 36 years, and is a 4/4 guy for Philadelphia teams. He loves taking pictures, but does not have time to edit his 45,000+ pictures of his children and family.  Above all, Dr.Shin’s true love is spending time with his wife, Rebekah and their seven children (Sam, Tim, Dan, Christine, Hannah, Joe, and Lily).
